The city of Maryville announced Finance Director Denise Town will retire in July, according to a press release. Town has served in this role since November 1992. The recruit process to fill the position will start immediately.
A nonprofit summer enrichment camp called Camp Invention is coming to Clarinda Elementary School the week of July 7-July 11, according to a press release. St. Joseph Fire Chief Kenny Cordonnier will retire from his position on April 4 after a 43-year career, according to News-Press Now. He has served as chief since 2021. Assistant Fire Chief Jamie McVicker will serve as acting fire chief during a search for a replacement fire chief.
The St. Francis Foundation recently announced the new Ron and Billye McCrary Scholarship for Nursing Excellence thanks to a $35,000 gift from the McCrarys. Downtown Maryville honored three community volunteers during its annual stockholder meeting earlier this month. Doug Seipel received the Shooting Star Award for being a new volunteer for Fall into Fun.
