NorthwestCell announced it will end operations at the end of the year, disposing of select network assets to Verizon. Customers will need to switch services to Verizon or another wireless provider by Dec. 31. A week long switchover event is taking place at Rose Hill Acres Event Center from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 27.

  • MO Department of Conservation launches new reporting site

    The Missouri Department of Conservation launched a new online wildlife health reporting tool to report sick or dead wildlife. This reporting tool allows the public to report a description of the wildlife health concern, the location and photos to MDC staff. The reporting tool can be accessed on MDC’s website.

  • Humane society offered free dog adoptions

    The New Nodaway Humane Society is offering free dog adoptions through Sept. 30 as part of a national effort called “Clear the Shelters.” The adoption fee for puppies is $75.
