Maryville Board of Eduction names interim superintendent

The Maryville R-II Board of Education appointed Philip Pohren as interim superintendent during a special meeting April 1, according to the Maryville Forum. The board is likely to begin the search for a new superintendent at the end of the school year in May.

    The Nodaway County Commissioners distributed civic improvements funds from Tenaska to organizations throughout the area, according to the Maryville Forum. The Nodaway County Community Building received $3,000 while The Rose Theatre and Big Brothers Big Sisters each received $2,500.

  • Nodaway County holds elections

    A total of 1089 votes were cast in Nodaway County during Tuesday election, according to unofficial results from Nodaway County Clerk’s office. Tye Parsons was reelected to Maryville City Council with 87.31 percent of the vote. Parnell and Ravewood both approved a street maintenance levy. 

  • Missouri Western offering gaming camp

    Missouri Western State University’s Esports program is offering a summer camp for kids interested in gaming, according to News-Press Now. The camp will take place from  May 27th to May 30th and is open to kids 10 to 17. Registration can be found at missouriwestern.edu/esports/griffon-summer-camp/.
